2021.10.22 10:50 ThomasTheToole Direct deposit after the update
So I use PayPal as my primary direct deposit. Everything has been fine for the last almost 6 months. Well today, my first payday after the crypto update, I didn't receive anything. I've never not been paid later than 4am.
I talked to HR at work and they're trying to see if it's a problem on their end. My information was still correct in the system and my stub shows I got direct deposit today on the right account but it's not there.
I've already contacted PayPal and they're gonna call me back, I'm in line..
I'm just wondering if anyone else who uses direct deposit might be experiencing a similar issue

2021.10.22 10:50 electricidiot Who designs window mounted air conditioners and why don’t they add handgrips or something?
I have an older house, so we have window-mounted air conditioners. Every spring and every fall, when I install these or remove them, I am always struck by how incredibly heavy they are and, and this is the part I can't fathom, how there is never a good way to pick them up or move them.
Most current models have an outer cover that you install first, and then the actual body of the a/c which you typically slide into the outer cover. The fronts and backs of the body have the thin, line kinda sharp fins that you don't want to crush or bend so you can't hold those two sides. There are no handles, no grips, and every surface where you could potentially grip the air conditioner's body except for the flat bottom of the thing, are fairly sharp-edged. They’re also fairly bulky so getting your arms around them sufficiently at an optimal angle for lifting isn’t great.
So unless you have two fairly strong people who are lifting from the bottom, there is barely any way to lift these things without damaging them or yourselves in some way. Why? Why don't designers put any place--at all-- to lift and carry these things? That this lack of thing crosses brands and decades, there must be some kind of deliberative purpose for not doing so.
Is it because they don't want to encourage individuals to try installing them and hurt themselves (or drop the ac out the window and hurt someone down below)? Is it because there's no place to put a hand grip that would be strong enough without requiring some kind of redesign? Is it just a cost associated with putting in some kind of lifting strap strong enough to help, multiplied over millions of units? Is there anyone here in product design that can help me understand this, what appears to me, huge design flaw?

Apple has begun random invasions of privacy on photo collections.
Teenagers are known to make foolish decisions, such as taking inappropriate pictures of themselves or each other. These are automatically considered very illegal under America's outdated and idiotic laws.

2021.10.22 10:50 Academic-Accident IT company is asking me to pay RS 5000 for 5 days of training, as I couldn't complete the training of three months.
To join the company I had to complete a training period of three months, to be eligible for the job. There is no payment for these three months and the job was not guaranteed. Due to family reasons, I knew I was not going to be able to remain in India and decided to quit just after 5 days.
before joining they asked me to sign a contract saying that I had to work for a period of one year(which I would not be able to do so). They are estimating that a day of training is worth rs 1000. I signed the document over at my place and sent the scan of that document to them. The form required two witnesses to sign and the CEO of the company which were left blank. I only signed my signature.
Is the contract valid, which was signed in such as way and I have to pay the 5000 ?
p.s the training was a joke, we had to learn stuff on our own and the resources provided to learn were free websites such as https://www.tutorialspoint.com/ .

2021.10.22 10:50 likelyrobot Local egg dealers?
I'm wondering if anyone has a good, local egg supplier in or around the city. I'm looking for a consistent product for special baking or when I'm craving the deepest yellow-orange yolks I can find.
Even when I spend $7 a dozen on what I think is a decent brand in the stores, they don't seem that fresh.
Thanks for sharing your ideas and enjoy your Friday!

2021.10.22 10:50 Jarren2003zz Which magniesium supplement should I take?
So I noticed there are many different types of magniesum supplements like mag glycinate, mag cirite, ect. But I was wondering why people only choose one of those and not take all of them? Is it because they are all the same thing but then have the “glycinate” in them as a added thing.

2021.10.22 10:50 maatrol Getting the Blackwater money
Just finished my first full playthrough, what an incredibly amazing experience (good honor). I had a good run at the time the game released (came around 60/70%) but a friend of mine gave my PS4 a hard reset and I lost everything... So after a couple of years I finally found the Western spirit again and finished it in a few months.
But I have a feeling that I am missing something in this recent playthrough, to be specific: a mission where you are scanning the blackwater town/area and are making plans to get the money back. I remember a specific shot of Arthur and some others lying low on a hill with their binoculars out.
Now I don't know if I am simply remembering something wrong or if it depends on the choices I have made in the game.
Hopefully someone of you knows what I am talking about and can give an answer to this nagging feeling that I have been having.
